Building mission-grade software from embedded systems to full-stack cloud platforms.

Software Projects Lead at AFRL delivering operational tools for satellite and observatory analysis. I specialize in reliable systems, real-time communication, and scalable data platforms used by analysts and researchers.

About

Engineering systems that move from concept to operations

I am a Space Systems Computer Engineer and Software Projects Lead at the Air Force Research Laboratory, where I lead multi-million-dollar software efforts and build tools for electro-optical and satellite analysis.

My work spans full-stack platforms, embedded and real-time systems, and data-heavy research tooling. The projects in this portfolio reflect that range: a wireless sensor network on ESP32/FreeRTOS, a production print platform with custom order tooling, and a realtime social video app powered by Cloudflare Workers, R2, and PostgreSQL.

Wireless Sensor Network

Networking and interface for wireless sensors using ESP32 and the ESP-IDF framework.

  • C++
  • FreeRTOS
  • EspNow
  • UART
  • Microcontrollers

Wirelessly networked sensors which can be interface with using a mobile app.

What I built

  • Flutter mobile app that uses host device WiFi to connect to a base station which controls all sensors
  • Custom protocol for sensor and base station communication
  • Millisecond accurate timing on sensors utilizing embedded real time practices

Why it matters

As the world becomes more automated, sensor communication and functionality will be critical for real-time decision making in infrastructure, manufacturing, agriculture, and public safety. This project demonstrates how a wireless sensor network can deliver reliable data across distributed nodes despite power, range, and connectivity constraints. Designing for low power, fault tolerance, and scalability is essential for the next generation of IoT and autonomous systems.

Proxy Trading Card Print Site

A website for people to order high-quality proxy trading cards. Allowing for fun custom artwork or using otherwise unobtainable cards in your deck!

  • Next.js
  • Vercel
  • Electron
  • Manufacturing
  • Relational Database Design

A source for ordering custom art trading cards while also serving as a repository for fan made trading card art.

What I built

  • Designed a relational database storing complex relations between users, card art, likes, orders and more
  • Sophisticated Order editing screen using a combination of familiar deck editing flows and modern UI convienience
  • Back end Electron app that manages orders, print queues, pdf generation and more

Why it matters

Existing proxy trading card print sites were too cumbersome to use or too expensive. This site is easy to use, the cards are cheap, and manufactured and ship from the United States.

Async Video Chat App

Cross-platform app where users share live moments through short videos that can be watched live or after the fact.

  • Flutter
  • HLS Streaming
  • Cloudflare Workers
  • Cloudflare R2
  • Supabase Realtime
  • PostgreSQL

A realtime social video app where clans can record, watch, chat, and react together with low-friction live and async communication.

What I built

  • Live + asynchronous video workflow (start live, finalize, upload segments, and playback)
  • Realtime clan chat with reactions, read-state indicators, image sharing, and link previews
  • Subscription and monetization flow (upgrade prompts, Stripe checkout/portal integration, entitlement-aware UX)
  • Push notification pipeline for chat and video events using serverless workers + OneSignal
  • Clan management features (ownership roles, invite links, member controls, and clan media/settings)

Why it matters

It combines creation, communication, and retention into one cohesive experience, helping groups stay engaged while giving a clear path to paid upgrades.
